TCHS HelioTech is an organization created by various Temple City High School students all pursuing their passion for a greener and healthier future. With carbon emissions on the rise, and the world facing the heat of climate change, we knew that we had to take action. With an aim to reduce these figures, TCHS HelioTech was created with a focus of creating a drivable vehicle powered by solar energy.

Our emerging solar car team, composed of 29 members, competes in the annual Solar Car Challenge. With over 22 teams from all across the nation, competition sure is tough. Yet as a team we work together, as friends and family, no matter what obstacles block our path.
Our team comes from a diverse group, hoping to study various majors. It is programs like this, that allow us to gain real world experience ranging from all engineering types to business and marketing.
Sometimes the path to success is a lot bumpier than one would imagine.

The Solar Car Challenge is a program that encourages high school students to participate in a hands on project based learning initiative. High School teams from all over the nation compete each year, testing their car's efficiency, aerodynamics, and durability. The competition location alternates every year, racing at Texas Motor Speedway, or participating in a cross country race.
We strive to create the new generation of engineers, allowing students to engage in hands on situations, while aligning themselves with their goal of a healthier future. We actively collaborate with like minded companies, and together we can drive innovation and creative solutions to unique challenges.
